JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Food Procurement and Distribution, with the Warehouse Lead, the Warehouse Associate assists in the operation of the House of Hope distribution warehouse. Warehouse operations include intake, distribution, deliveries, pick-ups, inventory, and maintenance of the physical space to ensure efficiency, cleanliness, safety and security.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS:

Work with staff and volunteers, to organize, maintain, clean, and participate in the daily operations of the Bonita food distribution warehouse.
Intake, organizing, sorting, and categorizing of food donations.
Ensure food safety and security processes are followed.
Maintenance and care of warehouse equipment machinery, and physical space.
Complete semi-annual warehouse inventory.
Facilitate operations and procedures to improve efficiency and safety.
Removal of waste from the warehouse & Golden Gate facility.

ORDER FULFILLMENT:

Drive 26′ food box truck, operate equipment and deliver or pick up food from/to branches or organizations.
Communicate product needs or concerns to the Warehouse Lead.
Communicate with branches to fulfill any special needs.
Complete monthly Meals-On-Wheels boxes.
Facilitate the PIF process, including fulfillment of orders, assisting customers, and logging food weights.
Conduct daily pre- and post-trip inspection reports.
Collect and return fuel or expense receipts.

IN-KIND DONATIONS:

Receive private donations. Inspect, sort and damage out product.
Maintain accurate donation logs and receipts.
Schedule and receive retail pantry pickups and donations.
Remove food waste and log damaged product.
Receive and manage gleaning pickups and deliveries.

VOLUNTEER COORDINATION:

Provide guidance and assistance as needed for warehouse volunteers.
Work with or coordinate warehouse/pickup volunteers.
Work with or guide group volunteer projects as needed.

OTHER RELATED DUTIES

Participate in disaster or emergency-related duties, as needed.
Perform all duties in conformance with appropriate safety and security standards.
Attend training, as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED equivalent required, with three months related experience. Valid Florida driver’s license and clear motor vehicle record for a minimum of seven years.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Completion of fork truck/pallet moving safety certification.
Ability to operate a pallet jack, forklift, electric stacker and other small motorized equipment.
Ability to drive a 26′ commercial box truck and maintain a clean driving record.
Computer proficiency required.
Knowledge of general vehicular maintenance.
Knowledge of Martin County roads, streets and community areas.
Knowledge of state driving laws and traffic safety practices.
Ability to operate and use transportation vehicles, hand and power tools, furniture moving equipment and other devices necessary in the operation and maintenance of vehicles and facilities.
Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion. Maintain confidentiality of clients, co-workers and agency.
Ability to effectively communicate and interact with others.
Ability to maintain clean, well-groomed appearance and dress appropriately for the position.
Ability to organize, set priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
Compliance with House of Hope policies and procedures.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision.
