Role Description The Financial Program Enrollment Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Milwaukee, WI. This role manages the enrollment process for homeownership and home repair programs, guiding prospective applicants through eligibility screening, application completion, and financial documentation. The coordinator conducts intake interviews, explains program requirements, and helps applicants understand budgeting, credit, and affordability standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, tracking application status, coordinating with internal teams to move applicants through the pipeline, and responding to inquiries via phone, email, and in-person meetings. The role also supports outreach events, collaborates with community partners, and provides clear, compassionate communication to individuals navigating complex financial and housing decisions.

Qualifications

  • Program enrollment and client services skills, including intake interviewing, application processing, and providing clear guidance to prospective participants.
  • Financial literacy and counseling abilities, such as basic budgeting, credit understanding, and explaining affordability criteria in accessible terms.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills, including data entry, document management, and maintaining accurate records in databases or CRM systems.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills, including professional written and verbal communication, active listening, and the ability to build trust with diverse community members.
  • Problem-solving and collaboration skills, with the capacity to work closely with program, finance, and outreach teams to resolve issues and keep applicants moving forward.
  • Familiarity with affordable housing, nonprofit or social services settings is highly beneficial; experience working with individuals from varied cultural and economic backgrounds is preferred.
  • Proficiency with common office software (e.g., Microsoft Office or Google Workspace) and comfort learning new systems and tools.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; postsecondary education in social work, finance, counseling, nonprofit management, or a related field is a plus.
