Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership: Lead financial operations, including managing budgets, overseeing accounts payable/receivable, and ensuring transparent reporting to stakeholders.
Compliance Rockstar: Ensure compliance with GAAP standards for nonprofits, as well as local, state, and federal financial regulations. Keep auditors happy and the organization’s reputation spotless.
Data Detective: Analyze financial data to optimize organizational resources while balancing your flair for precision with a commitment to the mission.
Process Efficiency: Evaluate and implement internal controls to improve financial performance, integrity, and efficiency. In short, make systems sing!
Strategic Partner: Collaborate with executive leadership to develop actionable recommendations for long-term sustainability and growth. Your work will shape the organization’s future.
Team Inspiration: Oversee and mentor accounting staff, fostering a positive environment that blends professional development with a commitment to the nonprofit’s mission.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
Education: A bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required (CPA, MBA, or other advanced degrees are great bonus points).
Experience: At least 5 years of accounting leadership experience, ideally in nonprofits. Tourism or hospitality industry experience is also valuable and welcome.
Tech Flair: Strong working knowledge of accounting software platforms, Excel wizardry, and financial databases.
