Job Summary
Camp Aranzazu is searching for a detail-oriented, growth-focused individual to join our Directors’ Team! The Finance Director will serve in a hands-on position responsible for safeguarding assets, all accounting operations, and maintaining strong internal controls for both Camp Aranzazu and for the Camp Aranzazu Foundation. This role provides an individual with finance, accounting, administrative, and operational expertise the opportunity to creatively structure accounting operations and problem-solve in a high-growth, mission-driven organization that has the highest standards in every category of camping operations. It is a detail-oriented operational position, with the added-on skills as a strategic, analytical, operational thinker. This position works closely with the President and CEO, as well as the Camp Director, Development Director, and Operations Director. The position can be based at the campsite in Rockport, or in Houston if the candidate is willing to travel to Rockport twice a month.

Located near Rockport, Camp Aranzazu (pronounced ah RAN zuh zoo) is a nonprofit, year-round residential camp for campers of all ages and abilities. “Aranzazu” is a Basque term that means “a spiritual place requiring a difficult path to reach.”
Essential Job Duties
Develop financial planning, budgeting, cash flow and investment priorities
Serve as a financial operations management liaison to the Finance Committee and to the Board, effectively communicating and presenting critical financial and operations matters
Contribute to the fulfillment of Camp’s strategic goals as well as overall management of the organization
Represent the organization externally, as necessary, particularly in banking and vendor relationships
Manage accounting systems in Quickbooks, Gazebo, and Ramp.
Oversee annual audit and preparation of 990
Preparation of the detail daily operations of accounting: deposits, disbursements, payroll, general ledger
Prepare monthly reconciliations
Experience And Skills
A. or B.S. degree from an accredited institution or comparable relevant experience, CPA preferred
A minimum of five years experience in finance/accounting, preferably in the nonprofit finance and accounting sector
Experience working with all levels of staff with demonstrated ability to establish trust and relationships and leading through others
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Quickbooks, and ability to learn other computer programs
Superior organization skills and attention to detail
Ability to proofread, edit, and verify the accuracy of information
Capacity to self-travel between Houston, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and Rockport
The work is performed in an office-based environment and requires the ability to sit, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, and to speak, hear, and see with close vision
