Elevate Community Center (“Elevate”) is a non-profit legal aid organization located in Santa Clara, CA, renowned for its commitment to serving low-income individuals and families. The organization provides legal services in general civil litigation, including but not limited to domestic violence/family law, criminal record clearance, tenants’ rights, legal services for small businesses, and general civil litigation. Elevate was recognized as 2023 “Nonprofit of the Year” by the Silicon Valley Council of Nonprofits, and received Santa Clara University School of Law’s 2024 Diversity and Inclusion Award.

The Finance and Development Associate reports directly to the Executive Director. Duties include:

run payroll using popular payroll platforms such as Gusto
bank account reconciliation through Quickbooks Online
prepare grant reports using tools such as MS Suite and Google Suite
support the Executive Director to plan and execute events such as annual gala
create and develop grant proposals

Salary and Benefits:

Salary range: $75,000 – $95,000, based on experience

Requirements:

Proficiency with Quickbooks Online, including bank reconciliation and Chart of Accounts
Proficiency with Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel, including formatting cells, creating formulas, and cross-sheet references
Strong writing skills, including the ability to draft professional correspondence, reports, and proposals with accuracy and clarity
Adaptable to learning new technology and software quickly

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency with Quickbooks Online for Nonprofits
Minimum of two years experience with nonprofit grant reporting and grant writing
Minimum of three years experience in fundraising, sales, or the equivalent
Prior experience creating annual budgets and projections
Familiarity with the San Francisco Bay Area nonprofit landscape

This position is only open to candidates who are legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.
