Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Farm to School Advocate at Montana Co-op & Kids Co-op. The role is based in Ronan, MT, with the possibility of working from home. The Farm to School Advocate will be responsible for promoting farm-fresh, locally sourced foods in school cafeterias, organizing educational programs, and collaborating with local farmers and schools to support healthy eating habits among children.
Additional responsibilities include implementing a school fundraiser that markets local food, building and maintaining a customer base, and supporting the community by managing local market orders and deliveries.
Qualifications
Experience in promoting farm-to-school initiatives and advocating for local sourcing
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships with farmers and schools
Organizational skills for coordinating educational programs and events
Knowledge of sustainable agriculture and nutrition education
Passion for promoting healthy eating habits among children
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience in grant writing and fundraising is a plus
