Title:
Youth and Young Adults Discipleship Pastor
Purpose:
To lead and shepherd the youth and young adult ministries, guiding them in their spiritual growth, and equipping them to become committed disciples of Jesus Christ.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Discipleship and Teaching:
Develop and implement a comprehensive discipleship strategy for youth and young adults.
Teach and mentor youth and young adults in the Scriptures, guiding them in their walk with Christ.
Organize and lead Bible studies, small groups, and other discipleship programs.
Leadership Development:
Recruit, train, and mentor volunteer leaders to assist in the ministry.
Equip young people to take onleadership roleswithin the church.
Event Planning and Execution:
Plan and oversee events, retreats, and mission trips that promote spiritual growth and community.
Coordinate outreach activities to engage with the local community and reach unchurched youth and young adults.
Pastoral Care:
Provide pastoral care, counseling, and support to youth, young adults, and their families.
Be available to meet with students and parents as needed.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other church staff and ministry leaders to align youth and young adult ministry with the overall mission and vision of the church.
Participate in staff meetings, church events, and contribute to the broader life of the church.
Qualifications:
A mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Passion for youth and young adult ministry, with experience in teaching, mentoring, andleadership.
Strongcommunication, organizational, and relational skills.
Ability to connect with and relate to young people, understanding their unique challenges and needs.
A degree in theology, ministry, or a related field is preferred, but not required. Educational assistance is available for the right candidate.
The candidate will be expected to agree with the VCF Statement of Faith.
Accountability:The Youth and Young Adults Discipleship Pastor reports to the Senior Pastor and works incollaborationwith the churchleadershipteam.
