Position Summary
The Director of Human Resources will help build and maintain a positive, productive organizational culture. This individual will oversee recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, performance management, and retention for Heads Up’s growing team of interns and volunteers.
Responsibilities
• Lead recruitment efforts for interns and volunteers
• Coordinate interviews, candidate selection, and onboarding
• Maintain personnel records and organizational documentation
• Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback
• Develop employee engagement and retention initiatives
• Support conflict resolution and promote a positive workplace culture
• Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic HR initiatives
• Assist with organizational policy development
Preferred Qualifications
• Current high school or undergraduate student
• Interest in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or a related field
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organization and time management abilities
• Ability to manage confidential information professionally
• Experience with Google Workspace and project management tools
• Previous leadership or recruitment experience is preferred but not required
Time Commitment
• Approximately 4 to 7 hours per week
• Attendance at weekly virtual meetings
• Consistent communication and completion of responsibilities by established deadlines
Volunteer Position
This is an unpaid volunteer position. Hours completed through this role may be counted toward volunteer or community service requirements. Heads Up can provide documentation verifying completed volunteer hours upon request.
