Position Title: Executive Operations Fellow

Hours: Part-time (up to 24 hours/week, flexible scheduling)

Duration: Up to 6 months

Compensation: $18/hour

Position Overview:

LifeSciKY seeks a motivated and detail-oriented student to support the Executive Director in the daily operations of a fast-growing life sciences nonprofit. This is a unique opportunity for a student interested in life sciences, innovation ecosystems, nonprofit management, or science communication to gain hands-on experience and exposure to high-level strategy, community-building, and entrepreneurial support.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic & Operational Support

Assist in tracking progress on strategic initiatives and organizational goals

Support the preparation of executive materials, reports, and board meeting documents

Communications & Storytelling

Assist in developing newsletters and social media content

Help prepare slide decks, talking points, and internal memos alongside the Executive Director

Contribute to marketing and outreach materials related to programs and events

Stakeholder Engagement

Help coordinate meetings with partners, startups, and funders

Draft follow-up communications and support logistics for key partner engagements

Program Development & Support

Assist in planning and executing LifeSciKY programming (e.g., pitch competitions,

educational events, networking mixers)

Support efforts to grow student and startup engagement in LifeSciKY offerings

Administrative Support

Provide day-to-day operational support for the Executive Director

Preferred Qualifications

Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program (business, communications,

public health, life sciences, or a related field)

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Strong writing and editing abilities

Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Canva, and social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn)

Ability to work independently, take initiative, and handle confidential information

Interest in entrepreneurship, biotech, innovation ecosystems, or nonprofit operations is a plus
