The Austin Black Physicians Association is dedicated to advancing the mission of empowering current and future Black physicians to provide compassionate, human-centered care in our communities. We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Executive Director to lead our volunteer-driven nonprofit organization. This role is critical in driving our mission forward through strategic fundraising, donor development, and revenue generation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nonprofit fundraising and development, as well as exceptional organizational and leadership skills. They will lead all aspects of fundraising initiatives, cultivate donor relationships, and build a sustainable funding model to support impactful programs. Key ResponsibilitiesFundraising and Development

Lead and execute strategic fundraising initiatives, including the annual gala and other events, to meet and exceed revenue goals.
Develop and implement donor engagement strategies to cultivate relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and grant-making organizations.
Create compelling fundraising materials and campaign content that effectively communicate our mission and impact.
Identify, pursue, and manage grant opportunities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Build and maintain a diversified funding stream, including donations, grants, sponsorships, and membership dues.
Monitor and evaluate fundraising outcomes, providing regular reports to the Board of Directors.

Organizational Management

Streamline communications and task management systems to enhance organizational efficiency.
Oversee contracts and transitions for administrative support staff.
Competence in creating, understanding, and managing non-profit financial documents, including budgets, financial statements, and fundraising reports.

Communications

Utilize digital platforms, project management tools, and social media to engage stakeholders and amplify fundraising efforts.
Communicate regularly with the public, donors, and partners to maintain transparency and build trust.

Board Collaboration

Support strategic planning and provide progress updates, particularly related to fundraising and financial health.
Prepare Board meeting agendas and materials, focusing on development strategies and outcomes.

Program Development and Evaluation

Develop and evaluate mentorship, workshop, and networking programs, highlighting their impact to donors and stakeholders.

Membership Development

Support and optimize membership structures and benefits.
Organize membership meetings and support engagement strategies.

Compliance and Best Practices

Ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
Maintain best practices in fundraising ethics and donor stewardship.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or a similar leadership role.
Proven track record of successful fundraising, including event planning, donor cultivation, and grant writing.
Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and financial reporting.
Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities, with a focus on donor engagement.
