Position:  Executive Director – Northeast Territory

SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Regional Director, the Executive Director will work closely with the Development, Mission Outcomes, andAdvocacydepartments to identify, foster, and recognize vital community relationships to advance the mission of the Epilepsy Foundation. Affiliations include Epilepsy Centers and medical professionals, business leaders, individual and group volunteers, government representatives, and interns. The Executive Director will help lead the core activities of the Epilepsy Foundation in New Jersey and West Virginia.

They will collaborate with department staff to conduct comprehensive needs assessments for each area and develop strategies to achieve relationship recruitment goals. The ability to analyze data and adapt to market trends is essential. A thorough understanding and implementation of organizational policies and procedures are required. Strongleadership, management, andcommunication skillsare necessary to engage the community, corporate partners, committees, and boards.

Building team spirit and camaraderie in afast-pacednonprofit environment is a priority.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward both individual and organizational partnerships within the assigned territory that promote the mission of the Epilepsy Foundation and support people with epilepsy (35%).

Develop and support in-person and virtual engagement activities within the assigned territory (25%).

Prioritize the identification of highly qualified volunteers to lead and assist with Mission Outcomes’ program initiatives and trainings (20%).

Connect newly formed relationships with the appropriate staff and/orleadershipvolunteers within the organization (10%).

Ensurecommunity engagementdata is entered into the organization’s CRM and other necessary software platforms to track and measure impact (10%).

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Interact professionally and with ateam-orienteddisposition with national office staff as needed.

Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Epilepsy Foundation’s mission, programs, services, research,advocacy, and fundraising opportunities, and convey this information in an engaging style, both verbally and in writing.

Secure priority relationships through local media, the web, social media, personal outreach, and networking within the assigned territory.

Adapt quickly to market changes based on data analysis in afast-paced environment.

Implement protocols and policies as needed.

Ensure all software platforms are utilized to their maximum capacity.

Assist with other duties and special projects as assigned.

Work with department leads to implement a case statement for aligning with the Foundation.

Ensure proper training, orientations, and background checks are completed where necessary.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of six (6) years of experience working with volunteers and professional disciplines in a nonprofit or for-profit environment.

Previous or current employment developing, recognizing, and maintaining relationships in the organization’s best interest.

Strong strategic thinking skills, including a solid understanding of outcomes-based goals and objectives informed by data.

Demonstrated ability to make judicious and fiscally sound decisions in difficult situations.
