Overview
Right to Life of NEO is seeking a full-time Executive Director who is mission-driven and an experienced business leader. Right to Life of NEO is a non-profit agency that protects innocent human life from conception to natural death… no exceptions !
The Executive Director shall demonstrate a vibrant personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and be an active member of a local church. This position will report to and work with a board of directors in our Akron office.
Essential Functions
Leadership
Lead the development of programs, organizational strategies, and financial plans in collaboration with the Board of Directors and staff.
Execute plans and policies as approved by the board.
Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the Pro-Life ministry
Relationship Building
Encourage volunteer engagement in all aspects of the organization’s activities.
Develop and maintain strong partnerships and collaborative efforts with community groups and organizations.
Serve as a spokesperson for the organization’s programs and perspectives to agencies, organizations, and the public.
Foster a motivating environment that attracts and retains a diverse group of volunteers.
Event Planning
Plan, develop, organize and execute all the details of each event throughout the year
Strategic Planning
Ensure the organization adheres to its long-term strategy, consistently achieving its mission and making timely progress.
Participate in all board meetings, providing comprehensive reports and updates on current work, project timelines, and overall organizational progress.
Keep the board thoroughly informed about the organization’s condition and all influencing factors.
Public Speaking
Deliver speeches and presentations at events and training sessions.
Human Resources
Supervise office staff to ensure proper job performance.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement sound human resource practices.
Marketing
Oversee marketing and promotion of the organization’s activities, programs, and events.
Create and distribute eblasts and social media posts biweekly.
Produce and circulate the quarterly newsletter.
Financial
Plan, manage, and oversee the organization’s operations, programs, and fundraising efforts, ensuring financial sustainability.
Collaborate with the board to prepare event budgets and ensure the organization operates within budget guidelines.
Ensure adequate funds are available to enable the organization to carry out its work.
Review and approve service contracts with board approval.
Competencies
Must be pro-life with no exceptions
Must be thorough when performing work and strive to achieve accuracy and consistency in all tasks
Experience supervising employees and volunteers
Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, Publisher
Public speaking experience
Experience with fundraising
Marketing experience including Constant Contact and social media
Willing and eager to recruit new donors and sponsors
Must be able to create and maintain trust relationships with ally organizations
Must be able to inspire donors and sponsors to engage
Must be able to manage a calendar and to do list with deadlines
Must be able to communicate well (written, verbal and in person)
Must possess a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
Travel
Some local travel is required with this position. We compensate mileage for anything over 15 miles one way.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and copiers.
Physical Demands
Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations.
Work is generally done sitting, talking, listening, and typing.
May be required to lift objects up to 20 lbs.
Position Type/Expected Hours
This position is a full-time position. Hours are typically 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday. Some weekend and evening work may be required.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position supervises one office employee and several volunteers.
