The Florence & Laurence Spungen Family Foundation improves thequality of lifeof individuals and families facing health challenges, and to address issues that particularly affect the Jewish community. This new position manages the grantmaking,strategic planning, Board involvement, and Next Generation engagement for a Lake County, IL and Santa Barbara County, CA based family foundation.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The Spungen Family Foundation is seeking a part-time Executive Director to manage its grantmaking,strategic planning, Board involvement, and Next Generation engagement. This remote position is part-time, working within proximity to Northern Cook and Lake Counties, IL. We are seeking a thought leader who can guide the Board of Trustees while being led by the Board’s vision and direction.
The Executive Director will provide strategic and operationalleadershipto a multi-generational family foundation. The Foundation is at a significant point of growth. This position is critical in helping the foundation define its sub-priorities within mentalwellnessand homelessness, identify local organizations working on these issues, and developimpactfulrelationships.
Beyond the core responsibility of grantmaking and liaising with grantees, Board Engagement is essential, supporting ongoing learning and engagement of board members, including identifying opportunities for site visits, deepening expertise in the foundation’s giving areas, and providing direct support for board members in exploring funding opportunities.
COMPENSATION
$62,500 – $69,000
