About Us
GIFTS Men’s Shelter is a Christian non-profit organization serving homeless men throughout Rock County in Southern Wisconsin. Our mission is to provide compassionate care and support to homeless men while fostering their journey toward stable housing and self-sufficiency.
Position Overview
The Executive Director leads our organization in fulfilling its mission through strategic leadership, operational management, and community engagement. This role balances administrative responsibilities with our faith-based approach to serving vulnerable populations.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Implement and develop strategic plans in partnership with the Board of Directors
Ensure all programs align with the organization’s Christian mission and values
Attend all Board meetings and provide information necessary for competent decision-making
Operational Management
Oversee day-to-day operations of all GIFTS Men’s Shelter programs and services
Develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with the Finance Committee
Ensure responsible stewardship of financial resources, including maintaining proper cash flow and reserves
Manage and develop staff through effective hiring, training, and performance evaluation
Community Relations & Development
Develop and maintain close working relationships with local area churches in alignment with our mission
Represent GIFTS Men’s Shelter positively in the community through public relations activities
Develop and implement effective fundraising strategies
Build and maintain relationships with donors, community partners, and stakeholders
Ensure consistent messaging that reflects our Christian values and commitment to service
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, ministry, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of leadership experience in nonprofit management or related field
Demonstrated success in fundraising and donor relations
Strong financial management and budgeting skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Proficiency with financial software and MS Office/Google Apps
Personal commitment to Christian faith and values aligned with our mission
Experience working with vulnerable populations preferred
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range” $70,000-$76,000
Monthly health care stipend
