This is a part-time role (40-80 hours per month). It is a hybrid role; the preferred location is a Life Science Hub in San Diego, San Francisco, or Boston.

The Biotech CEO Sisterhood is a dynamic force for change, dedicated to empowering women in the C-suite and driving equitable representation at the highest levels of the biopharma industry. Through summits, events, and educational programs, we champion the advancement of women to the C-suite, address the unique challenges they face in these roles, and amplify their voices to shape the future of biotech. Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate and experienced professional to serve as our Part-Time Executive Director. The ideal candidate will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight to advance our mission while working collaboratively with our Board of Directors, volunteers, and sponsors/partners. The Sisterhood is in its growth phase where we are scaling from a grassroots networking group to a formal nonprofit. The Executive Director will play a pivotal role in this by implementing infrastructure, setting up membership dues, working with the Board to source sponsors, setting up member committees, and working with other CxO chapters to coordinate, as well as helping to finalize our 501(c ) (3) status.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy:

Collaborate with the Board to develop and implement strategic plans aligned with the organization’s mission

Build and maintain relationships with key sponsors, members, and other chapter leads

Identify opportunities for program growth and organizational development

Fundraising & Financial Management

Oversee fundraising activities including grant writing, donor relations, and special events

Develop and manage the annual budget in partnership with the Board Treasurer

Ensure financial sustainability and responsible stewardship of resources

Monitor and report on financial performance regularly

Program Management

Provide oversight for program/event development, implementation, and evaluation

Ensure programs align with the organization’s mission and strategic goals

Track and report program/event outcomes and impact to stakeholders

Board Relations

Work closely with the Board of Directors to fulfill the organization’s mission

Attend all Board meetings and provide regular updates on operations

Support Board committees and assist with Board recruitment and development

Staff & Volunteer Management

Supervise and mentor staff

Foster a positive and collaborative organizational culture

Ensure compliance with employment laws and organizational policies

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in non-profit management, business, or related field

3+ years of senior leadership experience in the non-profit sector

Demonstrated success in fundraising and donor relations

Strong financial management and budgeting skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends

Preferred

Experience with women-focused programs and services

Grant writing and management experience

Experience working with a volunteer Board of Directors

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience

Flexible work schedule

Compensation: From $75.00 to $90.00 per hour
