The Winthrop University Foundation invites a highly motivated and strategic Executive Director to lead our organization. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to shape the future of the University through impactful leadership and financial stewardship.
Your Key Contributions:
Strategic Vision & Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to advance the Foundation’s mission and achieve fundraising objectives.
Operational & Financial Oversight: Ensure the integrity of all financial operations, including budgeting, audits, tax compliance, and investment management, while upholding fiduciary responsibilities.
Collaborative Leadership & Partnership: Foster strong relationships with University leadership, donors, and stakeholders to maximize philanthropic impact.
Organizational Excellence: Lead and empower a dedicated team, cultivating a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities Include:
Providing strategic direction and oversight for all Foundation activities.
Managing day-to-day operations and ensuring financial accountability.
Serving as a thought partner in identifying philanthropic opportunities, stewarding donors, and fostering strategic partnerships to support the University’s mission.
Ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and best practices.
Representing the Foundation within the University and broader community.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a relevant field.
Minimum of three years of progressive experience in nonprofit financial management, including expertise in complex financial statements, tax returns, and audits.
Demonstrated knowledge of higher education philanthropy and nonprofit regulations.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge and Raiser’s Edge Preferred.
