The Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago (CIOGC) is searching for a visionary Executive Director to guide us as we continue to unite and empower over 400,000 Muslims across the Chicago area and Illinois.

CIOGC serves as the central hub for over 70 member organizations, including non-profit organizations, mosques, schools, and community groups. Together, we work toward a shared vision of collaboration, advocacy, and service to our community. The Executive Director will play a pivotal role in shaping our future by leading initiatives that address the diverse needs of the Muslim community and beyond.

As Executive Director, you’ll be responsible for:

Leading impactful programs that align with our mission and engage our members.

Expanding our fundraising efforts by building relationships with donors, securing grants, and exploring new revenue streams.

Cultivating strong partnerships with interfaith groups, government leaders, and other community organizations to amplify our collective voice.

Representing CIOGC in the media, enhancing our public image, and ensuring a positive portrayal of Islam and Muslims in Illinois.

What we’re looking for:

7-10 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, especially in a senior role.

A Master’s degree in a relevant field (business, social services, nonprofit management, etc.).

A proven track record in fundraising, program development, and strategic leadership.

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

A passion for fostering collaboration, driving community engagement, and tackling social issues with innovative solutions.
