Kiddie Keep Well Camp (KKWC) is a wonderful initiative that provides outdoor camping experiences for under-resourced and/or health-impaired children and senior citizens, all of whom are residents of Middlesex County, New Jersey, and qualify for assistance under the Federal Guidelines for Poverty. This private 501(c)(3) sleep-away camp offers three distinct camping programs that focus on promoting multiple dimensions of wellness: physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, social, and environmental health.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide leadership and direction to ensure the effective operation and delivery of programs with the camp and community.

Support the organization’s mission and principles.

Ensure an environment that facilitates the achievement of youth development outcomes.

Ensure the implementation of youth and senior citizens programs, services, and activities that meet the requirements of all grants and support camp outcomes.

Oversee community-based volunteer-powered events and programs.

Drive engagement with local volunteers, partners, and businesses, ensuring high levels of participation and commitment.

Build, coach, and manage a diverse team of staff and volunteer leaders to support the camps’ objectives.

Serve as a passionate and persuasive communicator, both written and verbal, for Kiddie Keep Well Camp.

Identify, recruit, and develop effective board members.

Ensure the annual budget is funded and the organization has adequate cash flow.

Develop strategic alliances with community leaders and local officials.

Increase visibility of camp programs, services, and activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

• A minimum of 5 to 7 years experience managing programs or operations in a non-profit agency; or equivalent combination of experience.

• Demonstrated ability to organize, direct, plan, and coordinate operations.

• Leadership skills, including negotiation, problem-solving, decision-making, and delegation.

• Strong communication skills both oral and written.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Board of Directors, staff, community groups, and other related agencies.

• Basic knowledge of asset management including financial resources and property.
