WHO is seeking an Executive Director who’s excited to lead, collaborate, and help strengthen the homeschooling community across Washington state.
What You’ll Do
As Executive Director, you’ll guide the daily operations of the organization and ensure our programs, events, and communications run smoothly. Your work will directly support families, students, and educators throughout the state. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing daily operations and organizational workflows
- Managing finances, budgeting, and required reporting
- Planning and executing major events, including the annual graduation ceremony and statewide homeschool conference
- Communicating regularly with the WHO Board and the broader homeschool community
- Maintaining and updating the WHO website
- Coordinating core programs such as the homeschool parent qualifying course, monthly webinars, and student scholarships
This is a remote position, but candidates must reside in Washington state to ensure strong connection and accessibility to the communities we serve.
You’re a Great Match If You:
- Have 5+ years of homeschooling experience under Washington’s home‑based instruction law
- Bring excellent oral and written communication skills
- Have 2+ years of experience in office management and/or event planning
- Enjoy solving problems, improving processes, and supporting a positive team culture
- Are comfortable balancing multiple responsibilities and engaging with a diverse community
