Executive Director OPPORTUNITY Community Action Pioneer Valley (CAPV) is seeking a dynamic new Executive Director (ED) to fight poverty and advance social justice through a diverse range of programs supported by a national network of community action agencies for collaboration and resources.

The ED will build upon CAPV’s existing strengths, guiding the organization through growth with a strong equity lens to foster an inclusive, supportive workplace and influence policy at various levels to address root causes of poverty. The role involves leading a transition from a 13-year tenure of the current ED, working closely with the Board of Directors to oversee fiscal, operational, programmatic, and compliance functions.

Key priorities include immediate and long-term objectives, with the ED providing overall leadership to ensure the organization achieves its mission of promoting economic justice and improving quality of life.

Qualifications

Experience leading or managing a complex organization, preferably nonprofit, including board management.

Background in social/human services, advocacy, or community development is ideal.

Proven leadership that inspires trust and confidence, promoting a culture of innovation, change, and creativity.

Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and fundraising efforts.

Operational expertise in IT, facilities, and HR management.

Experience in program development, data management, and outcome measurement.

Skills in conflict resolution, problem-solving, and crisis management.

Successful community relationship building for long-term fundraising and partnerships with government agencies.

Understanding of regulatory environments and compliance management.

Experience leading strategic planning and creating shared organizational visions.

Ability to foster coalition-building among diverse groups and work effectively with government and marginalized communities.

Knowledge of rural community issues and familiarity with Franklin/Hampshire counties and North Quabbin regional organizations is helpful.
