Location of work : Saskatoon, SK
Education : Bachelor’s degree preferred in a related discipline.
Work Experience : A minimum of 5 years of senior management experience in a nonprofit, animal welfare, or related field.

For more than 50 years, the Saskatoon SPCA has been a cornerstone of compassion, dedicated to protecting and improving the lives of animals in our community. Its commitment to animal welfare, adoption, education, and advocacy remains steadfast—fostering a more compassionate world for vulnerable animals in our community.
The organization leads community-driven initiatives supporting pets and their owners, providing services such as vaccinations, spay/neuter surgeries, training programs, community outreach, and volunteer opportunities.
About the Executive Director
We seek a passionate, visionary, and strategic leader to guide our organization into its next chapter of growth and success. The Executive Director will expand education and advocacy efforts, enhance donor and sponsorship engagement, and lead a dedicated team of professionals and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities :
Leadership and Vision :
Provide overall leadership, ensuring alignment with the mission, vision, and values. Collaborate with the Board to develop and implement strategic plans.
Advocacy & Policy :
Build relationships with decision makers to advocate for animal welfare policies.
Financial Management :
Oversee financial health, including budgeting, planning, and diversified funding. Lead fundraising and donor relations.
Team Management :
Lead, mentor, and support staff, fostering professional growth and a positive culture.
Programs and Operations :
Ensure effective program delivery, develop new initiatives to promote animal welfare.
Community Engagement :
Act as the organization’s spokesperson, build community relationships, and represent the SPCA publicly.
Crisis & Risk Management :
Develop crisis management and risk mitigation strategies.
Board Collaboration :
Work with the Board for governance, strategic goals, and organizational performance updates.
