Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site role located in Southeast, MI for an Executive Director at the Get To® Foundation. The Executive Director is the part‑time chief staff leader of the Get To Foundation, responsible for guiding mission‑aligned operations, fundraising, programs, and community engagement. Working closely with the Board of Directors, this role ensures effective daily management, clear communication, and strong organizational impact while operating at a half‑time level. The role requires collaborating with stakeholders to develop programs and initiatives that promote the foundation’s objectives, as well as overseeing communication strategies to enhance visibility and impact.
1. Organizational Leadership & Strategy
– Manage day‑to‑day operations of the Foundation in a part‑time capacity.
– Support the Board of Directors in setting strategic priorities and annual goals.
– Convert Board direction into actionable and achievable short‑term plans.
– Represent the organization with donors, partners, schools, and community stakeholders.
– Promote a collaborative, inclusive, mission‑driven culture.
2. Fundraising, Development & Grants
– Execute a focused fundraising strategy including individual giving, sponsorships, grants, and key campaigns.
– Prepare and submit grant proposals and required reporting.
– Maintain regular communication with donors, sponsors, and partners.
– Support Board fundraising efforts through donor materials, updates, and follow‑up.
– Manage essential fundraising timelines (Giving Tuesday, annual appeals, and campaign‑based activities).
– Monitor fundraising progress and provide updates to the Treasurer and Board.
3. Financial & Administrative Management
– Oversee essential administrative functions including contracts, insurance, and compliance.
– Work with the Treasurer/bookkeeper to manage budgets and financial reporting.
– Ensure timely invoice processing and accurate revenue/expense documentation.
– Maintain organized records including donor databases, grant files, and program documentation.
– Support required annual filings, audits, and regulatory compliance.
4. Program & Committee Coordination
Serve as the primary staff liaison to Board‑led programs and committees:
– Student Scholarship Program
– Community Grant Awards
– Student Ambassador Program
– Volunteer Program
– Marketing
– Fundraising Committee
Support committees by:
– Coordinating meeting schedules, basic materials, and action‑item follow‑up.
– Managing program timelines, applications, and external communications.
– Ensuring consistent processes and equitable selection practices.
– Tracking participation and outcomes for storytelling and Board reporting.
5. Communications & Events
– Oversee core communications: website updates, newsletters, social media, and donor messaging.
– Manage CRM functions for donor and event records.
– Maintain consistent brand voice and visual identity.
– Plan and support key events such as the Student Speaker Series and donor/community engagement gatherings.
– Coordinate logistics, vendors, volunteers, budgets, timelines, and event follow‑up.
– Ensure sponsor recognition and event‑related donor communications.
6. Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
– Track key performance indicators across programs, fundraising, and events.
– Prepare annual impact summaries for Board, donors, and partners.
– Recommend improvements to strengthen systems, operations, and long‑term sustainability.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of nonprofit, foundation, or related leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, partnerships, and operational management.
- Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Ability to attend events and meetings as needed across the state of Michigan
- Demonstrated success in developing and securing funding through partnerships, grants, and donor relations
- Excellent communication, public speaking, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Innovative mindset with the ability to align programs and initiatives with the organization’s mission
- Passion for community engagement, advocacy, and the mission of the Get To® Foundation
