About Tri-Faith Initiative

The Tri-Faith Initiative (TFI) is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization based in Omaha, Nebraska, with a bold mission: to foster interfaith collaboration among our three founding faith partners—Temple Israel, Countryside Community Church, and the American Muslim Institute.

This is a unique opportunity to lead a one-of-a-kind organization rooted in local community and expanding national influence. We are looking for a visionary, mission-driven Executive Director to guide TFI’s continued growth, deepen our impact, and champion a model of peaceful, meaningful religious pluralism.

Key Responsibilities

Organizational Development & Thought Leadership

Develop and lead mission-aligned programs that position TFI as a national leader in interfaith work.

Oversee public dialogues, educational initiatives, and experiences that build understanding among diverse faiths.

Guide speaker series, academic collaborations, and interfaith convenings.

Lead strategic media and communication efforts.

Cultivate national partnerships to amplify reach and influence.

Strategic Leadership & Community Engagement

Champion TFI locally and nationally, expanding visibility and partnerships.

Deepen relationships with founding faith partners and community stakeholders.

Represent TFI at events, in the media, and within national coalitions.

Maintain TFI’s commitment to inclusion and shared learning, free from political/geopolitical bias.

Philanthropy & Resource Development

Create and implement long-term fundraising strategies.

Cultivate major donors, foundations, and institutional partners.

Lead donor engagement and stewardship efforts.

Explore national funding networks to support innovation and sustainability.

Financial Oversight & Sustainability

Provide strong fiscal leadership, including budgeting, planning, and reporting.

Align financial resources with organizational strategy.

Identify and develop mission-aligned revenue streams.

Governance & Board Relations

Work closely with the Board and Board Chair to set strategic goals and priorities.

Ensure strong communication and alignment between Board, staff, and stakeholders.

Support planning and coordination of Board meetings and retreats.

Engage regularly with TFI’s three founding faith communities.

Qualifications

Required:

Proven experience leading and managing organizations effectively.

Background in interfaith engagement or religious collaboration.

Demonstrated success in fundraising and development efforts.

Strong track record of building donor and partner relationships.

Preferred:

8+ years in senior leadership roles in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.

4+ years of experience in interfaith, religious, or social impact work.

Advanced degree preferred (or equivalent leadership experience).

Prior experience leading an interfaith organization highly desirable.

Additional Information

Travel:
Some domestic travel required for events, partnerships, and fundraising.
