The Executive Catering Manager will play a vital role in scaling our catering operations and opening revenue pathways for our members.

Position Overview

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Executive Catering Manager to lead and grow the catering arm of the 6888 Kitchen Incubator. This role is responsible for securing and managing catering contracts, overseeing client experience, coordinating subcontractors from our member network, and developing a client database to increase our reach and revenue.

Key Responsibilities

Booking & Revenue Generation:

Secure at least 3–5 catering bookings per month, including corporate, wedding, nonprofit, and private clients.

Conduct consultations, tastings, and site walkthroughs as needed.

Client Management:

Build and maintain a comprehensive client database including contact info, preferences, feedback, and event history.

Ensure all clients receive prompt, professional service throughout the event lifecycle.

Subcontractor Coordination:

Collaborate with food entrepreneurs within the 6888 Kitchen Incubator to fulfill catering contracts.

Draft scopes of work and manage subcontractor performance to ensure event standards are met.

Operational Logistics:

Coordinate staffing, rentals, transportation, setup, and teardown.

Ensure food safety, quality control, and brand representation at each event.

Reporting & Tracking:

Maintain records of monthly bookings, client satisfaction, and subcontractor payments.

Report regularly to the Executive Kitchen Manager and assist with forecasting and improvement plans.

Required Qualifications

Demonstrated experience managing corporate, private, and wedding catering events (portfolio required).

Strong organization and communication skills.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Must pass a background check.

Availability for some evenings and weekends depending on event bookings.

Preferred Qualifications

Culinary degree or professional food service training.

Familiarity with Dayton-area venues and local food entrepreneurs.

Experience working with nonprofits or community-based organizations.

Location & Work Environment

This position is based out of the Dayton Arcade in downtown Dayton, inside the OH Taste Foundation office. Some remote admin work may be allowed, but on-site presence will be required for meetings and events.
