Role Description
We are seeking an Event Coordinator for a full-time, on-site role located in Chesapeake, VA. The Event Coordinator will manage all aspects of event planning and execution, including organizing logistics, coordinating with vendors, and supervising event staff. Responsibilities include creating event schedules, ensuring smooth day-of-event operations, maintaining excellent customer service, and driving participation and engagement among attendees. Additionally, the role involves budget management, handling event-related inquiries, and collaborating with sales teams to promote events.
Qualifications
- Experience in Event Planning and Event Management, including organizing and executing events with attention to detail and adherence to timelines.
- Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to engage with clients, vendors, and attendees effectively.
- Sales experience to support event promotion and increase participant engagement.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, negotiate vendor contracts, and monitor event outcomes.
- Proficiency in relevant scheduling and event management tools and software.
- Adaptability, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure in dynamic environments.
- A bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience coordinating corporate or nonprofit events is a plus.
