Equity, Environmental Justice, and Outreach Consultant RFP
Acadia Center seeks proposals from qualified individuals or firms to support its policy efforts on equity and outreach, focusing on climate, consumer, and environmental justice sectors. The goal is to enhance engagement and outreach, ensuring the organization incorporates best practices for diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ) in its programs and partnerships.
Responsibilities include:
Reviewing and refining internal materials to develop a policy-guiding toolkit, including energy equity and environmental justice screening tools.
Collaborating with communications teams to update processes, incorporating DEIJ language in communications.
Providing resources such as case studies, FAQs, and best practices to support climate advocacy outreach in Northeast states.
Supporting policy and engagement activities with additional relevant materials.
Requirements:
Understanding of nonprofit structures and missions, especially similar-sized organizations.
Familiarity with environmental and climate policies in the Northeast U.S.
Successful experience in resource and process improvements.
Effective facilitation, communication, and training skills.
Ability to develop organizational best practices.
Experience with energy and environmental issues related to equity and justice.
Timeline:
The engagement is expected to last 8-10 months. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until 5 pm, May 23, 2025. The project is supported by the Barr Foundation.
Budget:
Maximum budget is $12,000. The organization reserves the right to reject all proposals.
