Position Summary
The Engagement and Operations Manager will oversee operations, programs, and partnerships within the Levesque Institute for Civic Engagement. This role ensures seamless coordination of community-based programs, effective management of grants and budgets, and fosters relationships withdiversepopulations and stakeholders. The Manager willlead initiativesthat align with the Institute’s mission to drive meaningful, systemic change in the Niagara community through civic engagement,collaboration, andinnovation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Community Engagement (60%)
Assist with the development and implementation ofimpactfulcommunity programs incollaborationwith local organizations, stakeholders, anddiversepopulations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners to enhance the Institute’s presence and capacity-building efforts.
Assist with the planning and execution of events that align with the Institute’s goals, including workshops, community meetings, and outreach programs.
Collaborate with the Niagara University community (faculty, staff, and students) to design experientiallearning opportunitiesand community-based projects.
Act as a liaison to the public, promoting the Institute’s initiatives through presentations, networking, and outreach campaigns.
Operations and Program Management (40%)
Oversee day-to-day operations, including budget preparation, fiscal management, and contract compliance.
Manage pre-and post-award grant processes, ensuring adherence to reporting requirements and proper allocation of resources.
Collect, analyze, and report program data to track performance metrics and outcomes for board reports and grant submissions.
Coordinate fundraising activities, leveraging social media and othercommunicationplatforms to increase visibility and secure resources.
Provide mentorship and direction to support staff to ensure program execution.
Ensure compliance with university policies and procedures while fostering a culture of accountability andinnovation.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Minimum of 4 years of experience in non-profit operations, highereducation, program management, and/orcommunity engagement.
Extensive knowledge of pre-and post-grant award management, including budgeting, fiscal management, and compliance.
Proven ability to build and sustain community partnerships and develop capacity-building initiatives.
Strong expertise in event planning, fundraising, and social media engagement.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and data collection tools.
Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills, with experience preparing board reports and grant submissions.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
