Emergency Community Support Fund – Round 2
Apply from October 5 to October 30, 2020 – for information on eligibility and how to apply for funding through the United Way of PEI.
A second call for applications for the Government of Canada’s $350 million Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF) will be available from October 5 to October 30. The Government of Canada has released the remaining funding for ECSF, which is being administered in collaboration with United Way Centraide Canada, Community Foundations of Canada, and the Canadian Red Cross.
The United Way of PEI and The Community Foundation of PEI will be accepting applications for the second round of the ECSF to support charities serving vulnerable Islanders during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since the pandemic was declared, community-based charities and non-profit organizations have been providing emergency support, especially to those experiencing increased vulnerability. The Fund aims to help organizations continue their vital work in the coming months to ensure no one is left behind.
Types of services funded include:
Food Security: prepared meals, delivery, hampers/baskets
Financial Wellness: literacy, coaching, income supports
Home Care or Personal Support: for seniors, Elders, and persons with disabilities
Health & Hygiene: health info, medication, personal hygiene & medical supplies
Information & Navigation: providing information, support navigation
Mental Health & Wellness: peer support, crisis support
Shelter: housing, crisis support
Personal Safety: info, violence & abuse support and prevention
Social Inclusion & Learning: social activities, learning opportunities
Transportation: access to transportation for essential appointments and errands

Funding applications from charities and other qualified donees are accepted. The total fund requested must be above $20,000 or up to $20,000, depending on the stream. The grant management includes a stream for non-profits and a Preventing Disease Transmission Training & Equipment Program, available to registered charities, qualified donees, and non-profits.
