Full Job Description
Elementary SEI Classroom Teacher Monday thru Wednesday 8:30 12:30, afternoon and Thursday hours may be available. One paid orientation day on June 25th required.The Elementary Classroom Teacher will be responsible for planning and teaching a class of 12-15 elementary schoolers, with help from one or two teen teaching assistants. Classes should include: English language instruction, review of essential math and literacy skills, completions of summer reading assignments, and topical science or social studies projects. Teachers will also be expected to supervise the teen teaching assistant(s) assigned to them and find ways to best incorporate them in the classroom.
Elementary teachers or education students with classroom experience are encouraged to apply. Background: The New American Association of Massachusetts (NAAM) is a non-profit organization that provides social support services to refugees and immigrants in northeastern Massachusetts. Core services include: ESOL classes, employment, case management, citizenship, youth programming, and more. NAAMs Youth Program serves immigrant and refugee youth ages 0-24 through afterschool and summer programs, tutoring, mentoring, family engagement, and much more.
We are currently hiring a number of short-term positions for our Lynn summer youth program. Location: Lynn, Massachusetts Dates: July 7th to August 7th Compensation: $30. All positions will include paid prep time.
