Job Title: Clinical Facilitator
Tentative Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM – 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Location : Detroit and Oakpark Michigan area schools

Job Description

We are seeking passionate, qualified Clinical Facilitators to join our OST (Out-of-School Time) Program team. This role involves working directly with youth during before and after-school programming, leading activities that promote emotional wellness, social-emotional learning, and personal growth. The Clinical Facilitator will be responsible for organizing and implementing the program activities, ensuring that students are engaged in both academic and social-emotional learning (SEL). The Clinical Facilitator will oversee the planning and delivery of the daily curriculum, coordinating activities that foster academic success, emotional well-being, and personal growth. This position is key to creating a positive, interactive learning environment that integrates STEM projects, arts, and leadership activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Organization: Plan, coordinate, and deliver academic and enrichment programs, including STEM projects, SEL activities, and arts-based learning experiences.
Curriculum Implementation: Conduct workshop sessions and ensure that all lessons and activities align with the trauma-informed approach and meet the developmental needs of students.
Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to Assistant Facilitators and volunteers, ensuring smooth execution of daily programming.
Student Engagement: Engage students in hands-on learning experiences and promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Lead and Assistant Youth Facilitator to address any behavioral or emotional issues that arise during programming.
Progress Monitoring: Assess student participation and progress, making adjustments to activities based on individual needs and interests.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and or certification in a relevant field (psychology, social work, counseling, clinical mental health, education, behavior & Child Care) or at least 2 years of equivalent experience.
Experience in program coordination or youth education.
Availability to work the hours of 6:00 am and 8:00 am and or 3:00pm to 6:00pm at least 3 days- out of the weekday Monday through Friday.
Must have a valid driver’s license and own transportation.
Must complete a full background check
Must have access to a computer.
Weekly commitment- 6 hours minimum a week
Experience working with youth in education, counseling, mentoring
Experience leading workshops
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with young individuals from diverse backgrounds
Experience in trauma-informed care and youth development preferred.
Creativity and ability to engage students in a variety of learning experiences.
Excellent communication skills
Must Have Qualities: Empathy, patience, and genuine interest in helping young people thrive.

Programming:

Collaborate with the program coordinator or supervisor to ensure the current curriculum meets the needs of participants, programming ideas are welcomed.
Implement relevant program changes when needed.

Facilitation:

Lead emotional awareness workshops and OST program activities, including Mindful Manage Mondays, Tech Tuesdays, Wellness Wednesdays, Team Building Thursdays, and Fun Fridays, to engage and guide youth participants in learning and skill-building.
Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where participants feel comfortable expressing themselves, sharing ideas, and asking questions.
Use effective facilitation techniques to encourage active participation, critical thinking, teamwork, and respectful communication among participants, fostering a positive learning atmosphere.

Mentorship:

Build positive relationships with youth participants by being a role model, offering guidance, and providing a supportive presence.
Provide one-on-one wellness check in’s to address individual needs, challenges, and goals.

Evaluation and Reporting:

Monitor and assess the progress of participants, both individually and as a group, to track their development and adjust program content as needed.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, participation, and outcomes for reporting purposes.
Observe and provide feedback to Journey to Healing with transparency and in a timely manner.
Complete case notes at the end of each session.
Coordinate with the management team to share evaluation data that supports continuous improvement of the program

Communication:

Regularly communicate with the upper management team regarding updates and concerns with students.
Prepare materials, presentations, and resources to support effective communication during sessions.
Follow processes and procedures and address any concerns with the supervisor.
Address real-time issues/concerns that may occur during a program.
Ensure timely communication with management and support staff to address behavioral or emotional needs.
Collaborate with fellow facilitators and staff to ensure consistency in messaging and program delivery
