Position: Elderly Companion & Social Hour Volunteer
Sit and Chat Volunteer
The League of Jewish Women is looking for friendly and compassionate volunteers to visit elderly residents at a care home in Prestwich for one hour each week. Volunteers will spend time with a small group of residents, providing companionship and social interaction. Activities may include:
- Chatting and listening to residents’ stories and experiences
- Engaging in reminiscence activities
- Playing board games and other simple activities
- Providing company and helping residents enjoy their afternoon
- Supporting residents who may be experiencing loneliness or social isolation
Role hours:
Monday to Friday, 2:00pm – 3:00pm. Volunteers can choose the afternoon that best suits their availability.
This opportunity is open to people of all genders.
What you need
Friendly, compassionate, and patient. Ability to spend an hour with elderly residents, listen, and engage in simple activities.
