The Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) is a Montana state government agency responsible for managing and protecting the state’s fish, wildlife, and park resources. FWP’s mission is to ensure the preservation and stewardship of these resources for current and future generations.
About Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park
As Montana’s first State Park, Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park is located midway between Bozeman and Butte, Montana, about 1 hour from Virginia City and 2 hours from Yellowstone National Park. The park covers 3,000 acres with a 1,400-foot elevation change and features ten miles of hiking and mountain biking trails, picnic areas, river access, caverns with guided tours, and a campground.
The park offers stunning scenery and rich biodiversity.
Project Goals

Expand educational and interpretive programs
Increase volunteer capacity
Enhance outreach and awareness of state parks
This position involves engaging with youth, disabled, and elderly visitors, overseeing interpretive projects, and working with local communities to boost volunteerism, address weed and trail issues, and share creative ideas.
Partnership
The Montana Campus Network for Civic Engagement (MCNCE) facilitates this project. MCNCE is a coalition of colleges and universities dedicated to fostering civic engagement, service learning, and volunteerism across Montana, aiming to improve community life and educate students on civic responsibility.

Duties
Offer accessible Paradise Cave Tours for visitors with physical challenges or small children
Book guest speakers for the Friday Night Speaker Series
Collaborate with the Park Ranger to expand campground programs, issue news releases, post event posters, and promote events on social media
Coordinate with local colleges, schools, and youth organizations to recruit and advertise educational topics
Develop and present original programs for days like National Caves and Karst Day, Kids to Parks Day, Jr. Ranger, Music Days, Birding Day, etc.
