Responsibilities:
-Attend Board of Director, Executive and Event Committee meetings; prepare agendas and record minutes, present reports as required. Distribute Board and committee meeting packets.

-Develop and prepare the annual budgets to ensure financial sustainability. Prepare financial reports for the Board and members as needed. Complete necessary reports to be filed with regulatory agencies (i.e., IRS, Franchise Tax Board, California Secretary of State, IRS Form 990). Ensure proper financial reporting and transparency. Oversee periodic audits and financial compliance.

-Assist with the organization of all LAEF events and work with committee chairs to purchase materials, reserve venues, create invitations, promote events, etc. Perform all work preparation, coordination and manage volunteer involvement in programs related to the following events of the Foundation:

-Manage fundraising efforts including (but not limited to) donations, event payments, and sponsorships. Organize fundraising events to generate revenue and awareness. Develop and maintain relationships with donors and sponsors. Adapt programs based on community needs and feedback. Identify and pursue funding opportunities through grants, sponsorships, and events. Ensure donations are credited to appropriate account(s). Send out thank you letters to donors and acknowledgment letters to family of deceased members.

-Develop marketing and communication strategies to raise awareness for events/programs, scholarships, and the organization. Represent the Foundation at external events, conferences, and public forums, and build relationships with community leaders. Collaborate with the media to promote the organization’s work.

– Maintain the database with current address, phone numbers and dues paid to date for members. Responsible for mailing annual invoices for membership dues.

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any business field preferred, but not required. Minimum of 3-5 years previous relevant experience in business, marketing, or nonprofit management.

– Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills including the ability to listen attentively and to communicate information clearly and effectively.

– Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills. Excellent verbal and written communications skills, preferably bilingual – English and Portuguese.

– Proficient in computer skills and knowledge of database management software.

– Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills.

– Good communication and interpersonal skills with precise attention to detail.

-Balances office staff, field teams and individual responsibilities in an organized and timely manner. Identifies and resolves problems promptly.

– Strong analytical and mathematical skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
