Essential Function
Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, the Community Education Coordinator will help to coordinate the implementation of Community Education Programming through regular oversight of the established Corps Education Programs, and the formation of strong community relationships within the designated demographic areas that our Corps Education Programs serve.
Duties and Responsibilities

Needs and Assessments
Conduct community surveys and analysis to identify educational gaps and priorities.
Perform regular Demographics studies of areas that contain Corps Education Programs to ensure that the specific needs of our communities are being met within our programs.
Build relationships with local organizations, businesses, and community leaders to leverage resources and promote programs.
Collaborate with Childcare Directors/Managers to determine the specific needs of the families enrolled in our Education Programs.
Establish and maintain regular communication patterns with TSA Social Service components.
Refer families to local and(or) TSA social service resources when appropriate.
Program Development and Maintenance
Partner with Childcare Directors/Managers to incorporate SEL activities in TSA Education environments.
Collaborate with Childcare Directors/Managers in designing and structuring educational programs aligned with community needs, including curriculum development, course outlines, and learning objectives.
Support Childcare Directors and Program Supervisors with managing the childcare license
and certificates required for the license. Including monitoring license trackers in TEAMS.
Assist with the hiring process for licensed childcare or summer program directors.
Ensure that Childcare Directors/Managers are supported by maintaining regular communication and(or) supervision schedules.
Monitoring Outcomes and Conducting Evaluation
Develop assessment tools and strategies to analyze demographic changes, program effectiveness and program outcomes.
Regularly review program analysis and support Childcare Directors/Managers in adjusting curricula and teaching approaches based on assessment results and demographic changes.
Collaborate with program directors to compile and analyze data to showcase the impact of the educational initiatives.
Conduct staff and parent surveys to assess each program’s strengths and areas of growth.
Training and Professional Development
Collaborate with the Education Director to develop and administer education training, workshops, and professional development to the division.
Provide on-site education program assistance as needed.
Keep a record of Director and staff training hours for the year.
Additional Duties
Report to and collaborate with the Education Director.
Provide accurate and timely reporting of program status as needed.
Maintain personal professional development plan.
Other duties within the scope of the role as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in education or a related subject required or associate’s degree in related field with sufficient experience.
Program implementation and program development experience required.
Knowledge of New Jersey childcare licensing system, local, and statewide educational resources preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal intelligence and conflict resolution experience.
Experience working in multicultural contexts with diverse populations.
Willingness to collaborate on projects and work with a team.
Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
Proficient in Microsoft O365 (Word, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
Demonstrated attention to detail, with a solid ability to keep accurate records.
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
Must understand and support the mission of The Salvation Army.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $53,000.00 – $58,000.00 per year
