DDI Vantage empowers vulnerable children, adults and families to reach their full potential. Serving the community since 1971, this non-profit organization offers Early Intervention, Early Head Start Home-based services and Child Care Partnerships, and Adult and Youth Services programs.

Position Description: The Child Care Adviser (19 hours/week) provides services for children and families served in child care partnerships, to address the Education and Child Development, Disabilities, Health, and Family and Community Engagement program services of the Head Start Program Performance Standards.

Qualifications: This position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university. The successful applicant must pass a state and federal background screen, medical requirements, and a motor vehicle records check.

Key Responsibilities:

Observes partnership classrooms on a weekly basis.

Plans relevant health, safety, and development trainings for childcare teachers.

Ensures classroom lesson plans are individualized and align with child development goals.

Works with the Mental Health Consultant and Family Advocates to conduct classroom observations.

Attends childcare meetings.

Completes child development assessments and health screenings.

Possesses understanding and knowledge of children’s overall development and health, and seeks consultation from other EHS program services when appropriate.

Ensures partnership teachers understand and implement health and safety practices in the classroom.

Assists partnership teachers in professional development plans.

This position is eligible for vacation and sick leave.
