Jefferson Park Preschool is a well-respected childcare center located in the heart of Elizabeth, NJ. Jefferson Park Preschool was established in 1969 by concerned Elizabeth residents as a private, non-profit organization to provide quality daycare for children of working families. Since its founding Jefferson Park has provided a word-class early childhood program; with a majority of it’s graduates going on to excel in academics and gain entry to honors and gifted and talented programs

Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver curriculum founded on the center’s philosophies whilst following High Scope Curriculum.
Create positive learning environments including resources based on child-directed learning.
Develop strategies to guide positive children’s behavior
Build good, open communication with children, families, and staff
Observe and record children’s growth, development and behavior using electronic portfolios
Ensure the learning environment is clean, hygienic and safe
Help develop teaching goals for the center and its teachers
Undertake administrative tasks as required
Submit weekly lesson plans
Work with colleagues on school-wide special events
Requirements:
A Bachelor Degree in Education (Early Childhood) or related field
NJ Teaching Certificate CE or CEAS; P-3 Certification
Experience working in a childcare setting
Fantastic organizational and teamwork skills
Sound written and verbal communication skills
Friendly personality ability to communicate with parents
A good level of computer literacy
A good understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework
The full-time position begins in September 2021.
