LIFE RYDZ is coming to Deep East Texas, and we’re looking for local drivers to join us.
Created by Legacy Institute for Financial Empowerment (LIFE), RYDZ is a locally focused transportation service designed to help address transportation gaps throughout Deep East Texas while creating flexible earning opportunities for people in the communities we serve.
As a RYDZ Driver, you’ll use your own vehicle to provide safe, reliable transportation to riders traveling to work, appointments, errands, local destinations, and more.
Unlike national rideshare platforms, RYDZ is local. That means local driver screening, local dispatch support, and a service built specifically around the transportation needs of our Deep East Texas communities.

Driver Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be 25 years old or older
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Have a valid Social Security number
- Own or have authorized use of a qualifying personal vehicle
- Maintain required personal automobile insurance
- Successfully complete a background check
- Complete an in-person driver screening
- Submit all required registration and vehicle documentation
- Meet RYDZ driver and vehicle standards
Background Screening: RYDZ believes in creating opportunities for individuals from a wide range of backgrounds. A prior criminal record does not automatically disqualify you from becoming a RYDZ Driver. However, due to the nature of passenger transportation and our commitment to safety, individuals with disqualifying convictions involving violent crimes or sexual assault are not eligible to drive with RYDZ. Applicants with other backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
All applicants are subject to RYDZ’s background screening and eligibility requirements.
Vehicle Requirements
Vehicles must generally:
- Have four doors
- Be 15 model years old or newer
- Be properly registered, insured, and able to meet applicable state inspection requirements
- Have functioning air conditioning and windows
- Be in safe, clean, and functional condition
- Have no significant missing exterior or interior components
- Have no commercial branding or taxi-style paint/markings

2. Complete your driver registration
3. Submit the required documents
4. Schedule your in-person screening
5. Attend your screening
6. Receive your approval decision

We created RYDZ after recognizing that limited transportation can become a barrier to employment, appointments, essential errands, and economic opportunity in the communities we serve.
RYDZ is our attempt to help address that gap with a locally built solution.
And because RYDZ is a LIFE social enterprise, proceeds help support programs and services benefiting Deep East Texas communities.

Independent Contractor Opportunity: RYDZ drivers are engaged as independent contractors, not employees of Legacy Institute for Financial Empowerment or LIFE RYDZ. Earnings are based on completed fares and applicable compensation and are not guaranteed. Drivers are responsible for applicable expenses associated with operating and maintaining their vehicles, subject to the RYDZ Driver Agreement.
Pay: $60.00 – $200.00 per day
