Donor Engagement Officer
Camp Korey is seeking a passionate and relationship-driven Donor Engagement Officer (DGO) to help grow a high-impact major gifts program that fuels free life-changing experiences for children with life-altering medical conditions and their families. This role is responsible for building and deepening relationships with high-capacity donors, inspiring philanthropic investment, and driving significant revenue growth through thoughtful, strategic engagement.
The Donor Engagement Officer will manage a portfolio of current and prospective donors and play a critical role in expanding Camp Korey's community of supporters. As a key member of the Development team, the DGO partners closely with the Director of Development, Chief Executive Officer, and Board members to advance a culture of philanthropy and ensure donors experience the full impact of their support.
What You'll Do
Build and Grow Donor Relationships
- Manage and strategically grow a portfolio of approximately 150–200 major donors and prospects
- Cultivate meaningful, long-term relationships with individuals, families, and select corporate partners
- Develop and execute personalized engagement strategies that align donor passions with Camp Korey's mission
- Conduct regular donor meetings (both in-person and virtual), with a focus on deepening connection and increasing giving over time
Drive Revenue and Philanthropic Impact
- Secure major gifts at the $5,000+ level, with a goal of raising $1M+ annually, and increasing revenue over time
- Actively solicit gifts through compelling storytelling, clear communication of impact, and thoughtful asks
- Identify and pursue opportunities for multi-year commitments, upgrades, and planned/legacy gifts
Deliver an Exceptional Donor Experience
- Provide timely and meaningful stewardship, including updates, impact reporting, and recognition
- Ensure every donor interaction reflects Camp Korey's values and creates a sense of connection, gratitude, and inspiration
- Identify opportunities to engage donors more deeply, including events, site visits, and introductions to program impact
Strengthen Fundraising Strategy and Collaboration
- Partner with Director of Development to refine and grow the major gifts program
- Collaborate with the Chief Executive Officer and Board to support donor strategy and solicitations
- Contribute to moves management strategy, pipeline development, and prospect identification
- Work cross-functionally to align donor engagement with organizational priorities
Leverage Data and Systems
- Maintain accurate donor records and activity tracking in DonorPerfect (or similar CRM)
- Use data and reporting to monitor progress, prioritize efforts, and inform strategy

Qualifications
- Work, volunteer, academic, and life experience are all acceptable
- 3–5 years of nonprofit fundraising experience, with a proven track record securing major gifts ($5,000+)
- Demonstrated success managing a portfolio and meeting or exceeding revenue goals
- Experience with planned giving conversations and/or multi-year commitments preferred
- Proficiency with CRM platforms such as DonorPerfect (or similar)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High emotional intelligence and ability to build trust with a wide range of stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Proven ability to build authentic, long-term relationships with donors, funders, board members, and organizational partners
Work Environment & Expectations
- Full-time role based in a professional office setting, with regular donor meetings in the community
- Local and regional travel required, with occasional evening and weekend commitments for events and donor engagement (50% Travel)
- Requires the ability to attend outdoor events and navigate varying terrain at Camp Korey
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $68,000–$78,000 DOE
- Medical insurance with 80% of the premium paid by Camp Korey for you AND 70% of your family premiums

Requirements
- Valid driver's license
- To ensure a safe and healthy environment for our campers, staff, and volunteers, applicants must provide immunization history, authorize a background check, and complete a drug screen test
