Position Summary
The Dock Supervisor (Trainee) learns the leadership role in overseeing the daily operations of the donation receiving dock, ensuring the efficient processing of donations and surplus items. This position has mentor-training daily with opportunity to promote by January. This position is responsible for ensuring that the dock directives are followed and all essential dock operations are completed effectively and on time, by working closely with other supervisors, dock staff, volunteers, and department leads. This position ensures that receiving operations run smoothly, all while maintaining a Christ-centered, ministry-focused environment. Your leadership will contribute in supporting our mission to provide essential services to families and young adults in need.
5 Day Work Week between Mon-Sat., No late evenings. No Sundays. PTO plus Benefits.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily operations of the receiving area, ensuring donations are processed efficiently and surplus items are moved out on time.
- Supervise daily dock operations, ensuring compliance with safety, efficiency and customer service standards.
- Ensure that all staff and volunteers are meeting expectations for exceptional customer service to donors, fostering a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.
- Coordinate logistics to ensure the timely delivery of donations.
- Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Train and mentor staff on best practices in inventory and dock management.
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall organizational goals.
Requirements
- Experience in warehouse-inventory-logistics operations and people mgmt.
- Excellent leadership and organization skills with the ability to motivate a team.
- Thrift Resale experience – helpful.
