Are you passionate about maintaining high standards of kitchen safety and sanitation while supporting a mission-driven organization? Vogel is seeking a dedicated Dishwasher to join our Food and Farm Service team. In this essential role, you will ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance in our kitchen, contributing to the preparation of nutritious meals for the children and families we serve.

As a key member of our kitchen team, you’ll maintain safety and sanitation standards, assist with meal prep, and support our mission to provide high-quality, healthy meals. Join us and help create a positive impact on the lives of children and families in our community.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position, with an hourly compensation ranging from $15.38 – $18.27.

Vogel is a well-established nonprofit organization located in Dallas with a history spanning over 36 years. Our core mission is centered around providing exceptional care and early childhood education for young children from homeless and domestic abuse shelters, all within our NAEYC accredited child care facility. Our innovative approach works to support both children and their parents through a two-generation strategy, offering resources that set families on a path toward a brighter future.

What you’ll do

Key Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dishwashing and kitchen areas.

Wash, stack, and store all utensils and cookware.

Set up and break down dish stations, including dish machines and sinks.

Ensure clean and dry floors throughout the shift.

Deliver and retrieve food carts to and from classrooms promptly.

Assist with food prep and kitchen duties as assigned.

Support food deliveries by unloading and storing items.

Adhere to USDA CACFP and local health department regulations.

Report kitchen equipment issues and health/safety hazards.

Additional Responsibilities

Participate in team training opportunities and professional development.

Maintain compliance with sanitation and cleanliness standards.

Ensure multi-use areas are clean and properly maintained.

High School diploma or GED required.

Food Service Certificate or ability to obtain one (per USDA regulations).

At least 1 year of experience assisting in a corporate or school kitchen.

Knowledge of Dallas County Health Department safety and sanitation standards (preferred).

Ability to lift 40 lbs., walk, kneel, stoop, bend, and sit on the floor.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Compassion, patience, and respect for families and children.
