The Discipleship Pastor’s Responsibilities Include:
Develop holistic discipleship strategies that cultivate a culture of discipleship, while maintaining alignment with Parkside’s mission, values, and goals.
Shepherd his Member Care Group and pray for each member on a regular basis.
Preach at Parkside 6-10 times per year as directed by the Lead Pastor.
Provide direction oversight to all facets of group ministry (Community Groups and adult Sunday School), including but not limited to:
Care for leaders
Doctrinal and philosophical alignment of teachers and curriculum
Multiplication of leaders and groups
Provide direction and oversight to all facets of assimilation.
Provide direction and oversight of Grace Marriage.
Provide direction and oversight of Men’s and Women’s Ministries.
Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to execute adult Sunday night ministries.
Serve as resource pastor for Deacons of Hospitality.
Ensure appropriate plans for funding of ministries he oversees through input during budgeting planning and wise stewardship use of budgeted funding.
Identify, recruit, train, and equip volunteers for ministries under his oversight.
Accept and effectively execute additional responsibilities as assigned.

Education & Experience
Undergraduate or graduate theological education preferred.
Vocational ministry experience in discipleship is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Love for people and their relationships with Jesus.
Discipleship-minded and able to train and equip leaders.
Develop and implement strategies for areas of oversight.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Able to manage multiple areas and priorities.
Personal Characteristics & Qualifications
Communicate a clear conversion testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and repentance.
Demonstrate a passionate, growing, personal relationship with Jesus to become more like Him.
Meet the biblical qualifications of pastors (1 Tim. 3:1–13; Tit. 1:6–9; 1 Pet. 5:1-5).
Demonstrate spiritual maturity, be committed to the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, and desire Christlikeness in personal character.
Agree without reservation to Parkside’s Statement of Faith (Basic Beliefs, Doctrinal Beliefs, and Distinctives).
Be teachable and willing to be held accountable.
Lead with a humble spirit, a God-dependent faith, and a servant’s heart.
Embody a spirit of teamwork and collaboration.
About the Discipleship Pastor:
The Discipleship Pastor will focus on moving all members of Parkside to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. He holds authority equal to the other pastors within the plurality of pastors. He will preach when designated by the Lead Pastor and demonstrate spiritual maturity in preaching, teaching, leadership, and personal application of the Scriptures, serving as an example of ongoing sanctification (1 Tim.
4:15). The Discipleship Pastor demonstrates to the church and the community his love for the Word of God (Col. 1:24-29), a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is evident through the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22-23), and the desire to fulfill the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19-20).
