The Director will lead research projects related to patient advocacy, including landscape assessments, social listening, competitive analysis, and benchmarking to drive strategic recommendations and communications for our clients. The Director will work with team members to advise, consult, and engage with clients. Reporting to the Senior Director of Research and playing a key role on the Research Team, the Director will oversee strategic insight generation, manage freelance researchers, and support senior account team members in shaping executing projects for clients. Additionally, the Director will help enhance research offerings, drive sales, and develop innovative ways to present insights.
Key Qualifications:
Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical and biotech industries, the drug development process and healthcare ecosystem. Understanding of patient advocacy both on the industry side and the community side.
Strategic Communications: Quickly grasp new concepts and distill complex data into clear, visually compelling presentations. Strong skills in writing, storytelling, slide development, and client communications, and demonstrated ability to present ideas effectively.
Research & Analysis Capabilities: Proven ability to conduct and oversee in-depth research leveraging publicly available sources across industries, markets, competitors, non-profit organizations, and patients to uncover insights that inform strategic recommendations. Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to connect disparate data points into cohesive insights.
Experience: Seven or more years of relevant experience in agency or consultancy setting, as a strategist or strategic advisor, or in a healthcare communications or public relations role.
What You’ll Do:
Evaluate information sources, extract meaningful insights, and synthesize complex information into clear and actionable recommendations for clients.
Proactively acquire knowledge of corporate and client objectives, and therapeutic area landscape when embarking on research projects.
Translate research findings into actionable strategies that shape client decision-making, relationships with patient advocacy organization and patient advocacy efforts, synthesizing information from digital sources, social media, literature reviews, and first-hand patient experiences.
Manage multiple research projects simultaneously, coordinating with account teams and freelancers.
Pivot quickly to support ad hoc account team projects including but not limited to developing key communication materials, reports and summaries, executive-level presentations, briefing documents and support with event planning as needed.
Anticipate client needs based on project goals, company priorities, and strategic objectives, tailoring deliverables accordingly.
Build client trust through proactive service and project management across patient advocacy and communications.
Ensure high-quality, on-time, and on-budget completion of client assignments and deliverables.
Continuously generate creative solutions to client challenges, collaborating with internal teams and clients.
Stay informed on healthcare developments through media, blogs, webinars, and conferences.
Effectively delegate work among team members and freelancers, optimizing workloads and budgets in coordination with account leads.
Provide direct, constructive feedback to support development of junior team members.
New Business Development and Products and Services
Identify client challenges where research-driven insights can add value, positioning Rx4good as a thought leader in patient advocacy strategy in collaboration with senior directors.
Participate in the development and presentation of new business SOWs, project proposals, budgets, and timelines.
Continually evaluate/identify opportunities to innovate Rx4good’s research services and communicate opportunities to senior research team members.
Financial and Operations
Manage research-related activities to remain in budget and with appropriate use of resources.
Work with accounting on quarterly financial projections.
Possess strong skills in developing client budgets and monitoring project expenses to ensure adherence to allocated costs.
Show competency in understanding how an agency business operates.
The hiring process for this position includes a screening call with our recruiter, interviews with the Senior Director of Research & Creative Strategy, research team member, as well as members of the management team. Potential candidates may also be asked to complete a writing assessment to illustrate data synthesis and presentation skills.

Compensation:
Compensation for this position is anticipated in a range starting at $125,000. Salary will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, skills, subject area expertise, business development potential, seniority within the level and specific business needs. In addition to salary, our total compensation package includes many benefits and rewards such as paid vacation, sick and holidays.
