The Opportunity

Women’s College Hospital Foundation is seeking a strategic,entrepreneurial, detail and results oriented Director Philanthropy to join our high-performing Philanthropy team for the duration of a parental leave.

Reporting to the Vice President, Philanthropy and Partnerships, the Director Philanthropy is a passionate advocate, empathetic leader, skilled and experienced member of the foundation management team with a track record of success as a fundraiser, strategist and manager.

A strong developer of relationships and strategic thinker, the Director Philanthropy maintains a portfolio including Annual Giving, Legacy Giving, and Major Gift fundraising. The role is also responsible for prospect management for the Philanthropy Department to ensure WCHF is leveraging opportunities with existing donors and cultivating new communities, using a lens ofdiversity and inclusion, in support of the funding priorities of Women’s College Hospital.

The role requires an individual with anentrepreneurialmindset, excellent time and priority management, proficiency in financial management and revenue generation, and an understanding of integrated multifaceted revenue streams. The incumbent is also responsible for the engagement of internal and external stakeholders that includediversecommunities, volunteers and hospitalleadership.

Demonstrated commitment toinclusion,diversityequity and access and networks or competencies that illustrate that the incumbent is current and well informed regarding this guiding principle  individual will have a calm and consistent approach and ability to inspire and direct staff withempathyand grace.

This position is a key member of theSenior ManagementTeam (SMT) responsible for ensuring alignment of all foundation activities to our values and strategic goals as we raise funds to support WCH programs and priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for maintaining and overseeing individual Major Giving, Legacy and Annual Giving portfolios focused on the philanthropy of individuals and private foundations.

Supervising and mentoring 3 – 4 staff members.

Be an out-the-door Major Gift fundraiser allocating a minimum of 40% of time on donor-facing activities.

Incollaborationwith the VP Philanthropy, develop key growth strategies, manage operational work plans and monitor and evaluate key performance metrics to support the outcomes of the strategic plan for Annual Giving, Legacy Giving, and Major Gifts for the Individual Giving team.
