Job Summary
The Philanthropy Manager plays a crucial role in driving the organization’s fundraising efforts and enhancing its philanthropic initiatives. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to engage donors, manage relationships, and increase contributions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of philanthropy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve fundraising goals.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet organizational goals.

Cultivate relationships with current and potential donors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations.

Utilize databases such as Raiser’s Edge to track donor interactions and contributions.

Implement email marketing campaigns using tools like MailChimp to engage supporters and promote fundraising events.

Conduct market research to identify new funding opportunities and trends in philanthropy.

Negotiate terms of donations and sponsorships while ensuring compliance with relevant laws, including wills, trusts, and estate law.

Collaborate with university partners to enhance community outreach and engagement efforts.

Prepare reports on fundraising activities and outcomes for internal stakeholders.

Manage the organization’s online presence through WordPress, ensuring content is current and engaging.

Experience

Proven experience in fundraising or philanthropy management, preferably within a nonprofit environment.

Strong knowledge of strategic planning principles related to philanthropy.

Familiarity with email marketing tools and database management systems.

Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful donor engagement.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

A background in marketing or communications is a plus.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $27.00 – $42.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 20 per week
