Title: Director of People & Culture

Company: Yonge London Partners

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Company Description

Yonge London Partners is a multi-disciplinary consulting group built around three core pillars: Media, Infrastructure, and Community.

We work with a wide range of clients — including creatives, local businesses, international organizations, contractors, educators, and political leaders — to bring clarity, structure, and strategy to their work. Whether you’re building something from the ground up or looking to level up what you’ve already started, we’re here to help you move with purpose.

From managing major media rollouts and brand partnerships to setting up business systems and leading community-based initiatives, our work is hands-on and people-focused. We care about the long-term. That means doing things the right way — with intention, transparency, and impact in mind.

Role Description:

The Director of People & Culture will be responsible for building systems and policies that support our growing team while maintaining the flexibility and creativity that makes Yonge London unique. This role combines HR leadership, culture-building, conflict resolution, and people-focused strategy. You’ll work closely with division leads, managing partners, and collaborators to ensure that every person working with us feels supported, aligned, and empowered.

Key Responsibilities:

• People Operations: Build and manage onboarding, contracts, compensation frameworks, and performance systems across all divisions and teams.

• Culture Strategy: Foster a positive, inclusive culture that reflects our values across media, infrastructure, and community work.

• Conflict & Communication: Act as a trusted resource to handle staff challenges, disputes, and communication breakdowns in a respectful, solution-focused way.

• Growth Planning: Help identify people gaps and hiring needs across divisions. Work with leadership to recruit, hire, and retain strong talent.

• Partner Support: Help create clear expectations and support systems for collaborators, division partners, and freelance contributors.

• Team Care: Support the well-being of the people working with us. Provide regular check-ins, accountability tools, and space for open dialogue.

• Documentation & Systems: Develop internal resources and guides for team members, including SOPs, onboarding kits, and digital HR systems.

• Equity & Inclusion: Help ensure equity is centered in all team structures and decisions, reflecting the communities we work with and represent.

Qualifications:

We’re looking for someone who understands both the human and business sides of running a creative, mission-driven company.

Must-Have:

• Experience in HR, operations, or people leadership (3+ years)

• Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills

• Familiarity with creative, nonprofit, or community-based organizations

• Comfortable working in flexible, evolving work environments

• Proven ability to create and manage people systems (hiring, onboarding, performance reviews)

• Deep understanding of culture, equity, and inclusion work

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with collective ownership models, partnerships, or multi-division companies

• Background in media, education, or entrepreneurship

• Experience building or scaling teams from scratch

• Knowledge of employment standards, freelance contracts, and basic HR law in Ontario/Canada
