Are you passionate about shaping global infrastructure security, information management, and strategic governance? The Tomkulak Consortium, a global nonprofit organization active in over 30 nations with 300+ volunteers, seeks a dynamic Volunteer Director of Information Management to lead our newly established Information Management Department (IMD). This department will be working alongside existing departments for Strategic Communications, Geographic Information Systems, Engineering, Project Management and so on.

About the Role: As our Volunteer Director of Information Management, you’ll be the strategic leader responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing information management policies at the global consortium level. You’ll play a pivotal role in securing sensitive data related to critical infrastructure systems and stakeholder viability maps, shaping guidelines that consortium members worldwide may adopt.

This role directly reports to our Board of Directors, ensuring you have the influence and authority to make impactful decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Establish and lead the global Information Management Department.

Develop robust policies and procedures to protect sensitive data.

Define departmental roles, responsibilities, and structure.

Provide strategic oversight to ensure compliance with international information security standards.

Collaborate with consortium leadership to embed secure practices within all critical infrastructure mapping and stakeholder engagement activities.

Optionally support recruitment.

What We’re Looking For:

Professional experience in information security, data governance, or related fields.

Strategic mindset with the ability to shape policy and governance frameworks.

Understanding of international data protection regulations and compliance (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR).

Strong leadership and organizational skills.

Excellent communication abilities in a multicultural, remote environment.

Time Commitment:

Flexible and remote, with adaptable working hours.

Minimum commitment of approximately 10 hours per month preferred.
