Position Summary
The Director of Government Grants is responsible for identifying, applying for, and securing government funding at the city, county, state, and federal levels. This role will play a key part in maintaining and expanding the organization’s government funding portfolio to support a wide range of social services programs.
The Director will report to the Chief Development Officer and collaborate with internal teams across development, finance, legal, and program departments to develop funding strategies and ensure grant compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Identify & Research Funding Opportunities from government agencies at all levels.
Track & Monitor Government RFPs (Requests for Proposals) and new funding opportunities, including legislative developments and financial services platforms like SFS and City Passport.
Write & Submit Government Grant Applications, ensuring alignment with funding priorities and programmatic needs.
Develop Grant Budgets in collaboration with program directors and finance teams.
Ensure Compliance & Reporting by maintaining grant documentation and coordinating with legal and program teams.
Manage Grant Timelines & Deliverables using Salesforce or other tracking tools.
Support Program Staff in preparing narrative reports and performance updates for funders.
Stay Updated on Best Practices in government grants management and provide internal training as needed.
Build & Maintain Relationships with key government agencies and officials.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
Experience:
5-7 years of grant writing experience in the nonprofit/social services sector, with a focus on government funding.
Proven success in researching, applying for, and securing government grants (city, state, county, federal).
