Overview:
As the Director of Development-Regional you will work with a dedicated and engaged team focused on telling the story of how the donors’ funds will be used to increase access and broaden the reach of reproductive healthcare to our community. You will be the expert on your portfolio of donors and will be key to ensuring they are engaged and encouraged. They will rely on you for information and connection. Together we raise more than $5.0 million annually to make sure that Planned Parenthood Southwest Ohio (PPSWO) can provide quality reproductive health care and education to those who need it most. We need your enthusiasm, energy, skills and passion to expand our excellent team.

What You Will Do Every Day:
Communicate with and engage your portfolio of donors in a variety of media.
Learn your donor’s interest and find creative ways to match those interests with the needs of our patients and clients.
Work with the team on small events that bring new donors and honor our current cadre of support.
Present ideas on engagement and moves management.
Create and present ideas to engage new supporters to PPSWO.
Oversee meaningful donor recognition programs and opportunities for engagement at all levels of giving (major gifts, affinity groups, giving circle and corporate members).

At least three to five (3-5) years of professional fundraising experience in the nonprofit sector.
Experience with DonorPerfect or other CRM software preferred.
Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to confidently ask for major gifts.
Experience with fundraising tools including research, prospect development, direct mail, proposal writing, major gifts, and planned giving.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Development, Regional collaborates with the fundraising team and leads fundraising and engagement strategies in Southwest Ohio. Based out of our Dayton office, this position will play a vital role in securing contributed revenue and expanding our network of support, while managing a personal portfolio of 75-100 prospects. Our team of Development Directors (Major Gifts, Regional, Mid-Level, Annual Fund, and Grants) work in tandem to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and prospects. Responsible for establishing strategies and executing programs including major, mid-level, annual, planned, and corporate gifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Plans and leads a fundraising strategy that includes prospecting, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship for portfolio of 75-100 major, mid-level and prospective donors.
2. Establishes and meets mutually agreed upon financial goals for moving donors through the development cycle, including visits, dollars solicited, and dollars raised. Develops, manages, and tracks budgets for all giving programs within the region.
3. Continually assesses new prospects to look for engagement opportunities.
4. Leads gift solicitations and invites donors to include PPSWO in their estate plans and long-term giving strategies.
5. Coordinates and attends regional cultivation and stewardship events to elevate the visibility of Planned Parenthood in the community and garner increased financial support.
6. Oversees meaningful donor recognition programs and opportunities for engagement at all levels of giving (major gifts, affinity groups, giving circle and corporate members).
7. Prepares donor packets of information, proposals, budgets, gift agreements and contact reports for all assigned donors.
8. Oversees special stewardship projects including follow up letters after VIP events, holiday card mailings, “swag” mailings, invitations to special events, personal calls to donors, etc.
9. Contributes to the overall success of PPSWO’s mid-level, major gifts and planned giving programs, advancing the organization’s vision and impact.
10. Works with selected volunteers and volunteer committees.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
At least three to five (3-5) years of professional fundraising experience in the nonprofit sector.

Demonstrated understanding of the role that racial inequity plays in our society and its impact on health care systems and care delivery.
Demonstrated ability to be responsive to changing priorities and simultaneously handle multiple complex initiatives. Strong attention to detail.
Excellent relationship building and communication skills, including a high level of self-awareness, empathy, and humility in interpersonal interactions.
Bachelor’s degree and CFRE accreditation preferred.
Experience with DonorPerfect or other CRM software preferred.
Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to confidently ask for major gifts.
Managerial experience with interns, volunteers, and committees.
Experience with financial record-keeping software as well as common word processing, database management, spreadsheets and online communication technology.
Excellent organizational skills.
Must be a discreet individual with well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Must maintain strict confidentiality with donor information.
