Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The Office ofAdvancementhelps Belmont University achieve its mission by building a stronger community of support for the entire campus amongst all its constituencies. Incollaborationwith university partners,Advancementis leading the effort to prepare for the most ambitious fundraising campaign in the university’s history. Building on a track record of success, Belmont University is undergoing a period of growth and is actively increasing its institutionaladvancementcapacity and capabilities so it can realize its full potential as a Christ-centered university in the thriving city of Nashville, TN.

The responsibilities of the Director of Development, Colleges ofEducationand Liberal Arts & Social Sciences include:

The primary role is to partner with the Deans ofEducationand Liberal Arts and Social Sciences to create and execute significant fundraising plans in service of the overall comprehensive Hope Transforms Campaign for Belmont University.

Develop and manage a portfolio of philanthropic relationships. Cultivate donor relationships to solicit major and principal gifts of $50,000 to $5,000,000 or more. Coordinate and implement activities designed to increase prospect engagement, alumni and donor engagement and secure philanthropic gifts in support of the university.

Collaborate with partners inAdvancementand across the University. This includes partnership withAdvancementpartners such as Corporate and Foundation Relations, Planned Giving and Annual Giving to plan and assess fundraising work, as well as coordination with Athletics, University Ministries and other campus units to stay knowledgeable about opportunities, events and initiatives that may intersect with the college.

RepresentAdvancementat campus events, on community boards and in external settings to promote Belmont and its initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

Experience working in a development role at a non-profit is preferred.

Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and basic databases and software.

You have a history ofcollaborationacross teams inside and outside of your organization.

You are passionate about building strong, long-lasting relationships.

Ability to coordinate and administer programs/project activities and protocols. Ability to manage resources, monitor activities, and assess risks and quality issues associated with the program/project.

Interprets and seeks information, uses independent reasoning to diagnose the root cause of situations or issues, identifies and tests solutions and thinks beyond what is typical or customary.

Ability to present information to individuals or groups; ability to deliver presentations suited to the characteristics and needs of the audience.
