Job DescriptionÂ
General ResponsibilitiesÂ
Meals For The Elderly is currently seeking a dynamic Director of Development and Marketing to oversee various fundraising initiatives as well as manage the day-to-day marketing needs of the organization. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to plan, coordinate and implement fund raising and public relations activities for the program. This will include developing the organization’s fundraising campaigns, communicating with current and prospective donors, overseeing the organization’s online presence and developing various pieces of marketing collateral as needed.Â
MarketingÂ
Develop and implement a marketing, communication, and public relations program to enhance visibility within the community. Â
Ensure consistent communication of the organization’s image and position to all constituents. Â
Coordinate the appearance of all print and electronic materials. Â
Develop and maintain relationships with news media, community leaders, groups, and funding sources. Â
Coordinate media interest and ensure regular contact with target media. Â
Identify recipients, volunteers, and stakeholders for marketing materials. Â
DevelopmentÂ
Identify prospective individual and corporate donors and develop strategies to cultivate those relationships. Â
Maintain ongoing communications with private and corporate donors. Â
Schedule regular outreach days to develop relationships.Â
Attend events related to the senior population.Â
Social Media and Digital MarketingÂ
Develop and maintain a social media strategy. Â
Design and post on social media platforms regularly .Â
Â
Event PlanningÂ
Plan, organize, and implement two large fundraising events each year.Â
Identify and secure sponsorships and donations for fundraising events .Â
Collaborate with the Volunteer Director to identify volunteer needs at the events.Â
Plan additional events throughout the year, working with staff to develop and market these events. Â
Desktop Publishing & DesignÂ
Design and develop collateral pieces, including postcards, newsletters, posters, brochures, and other print materials.Â
Maintain the official Meals website, ensuring information is correct and up to date. Â
Computer SkillsÂ
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher). Â
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro) or similar design programsÂ
Proficiency in CanvaÂ
Ability to run reportsÂ
     QualificationsÂ
Two years of relevant experience in fundraising, development or special events, preferably in nonprofit organizations.Â
One years of relevant experience in marketing, advertising or public relationsÂ
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university. Degrees in marketing, public relations or journalism preferred.Â
Have strong computer skills with experience in Word, Excel and Publisher.Â
Ability to make decisions and work independently.Â
Must be creative and have excellent oral and written communication skills.Â
Be willing to work evenings and weekends from time to time.
